If your headphone port is free, make sure Do Not Disturb is not enabled. To disable this setting, go to Settings > Do Not Disturb. Make sure this is turned off. If Do Not Disturb is off, go to Settings > Sounds & Vibration > Volume > slide the Media slider to the right to increase the volume and test the speaker.
